The Event
The Great Race of Agoura was established in 1986 by a group of parents looking to raise money for their children's elementary schools. Now professionally produced and in its 30th year, The Great Race of Agoura Hills is one of the largest running events in the Los Angeles area and continues to donate to many schools in Agoura Hills and Oak Park.

The Great Race was voted as Best Half Marathon in the U.S. in by The Great Race was voted as Best Running Event in L.A. numerous years, the Don't Miss Event in L.A., Best Race Swag by Competitor Magazine, a Top 10K by Runner's World and the Best Post Race Party in L.A.. Sign up and you'll experience why The Great Race is truly GREAT. The Great Race is more than just a morning run. Maybe it's the outstanding courses or the exceptional organization or maybe it's the quality swag or the stuffed reusable goodie bag or maybe the plentiful variety of food and refreshments or maybe the professional computerized timing and live results or the crowd cheering you on at the finish or the camaraderie of a community event. Great Runners

All races finish in Chumash Park, Agoura Hills (map). Click here for directions and important parking information. Chumash Park is site of the finish, the race day Sports and Fitness Expo and Post-Race Party.

3 Different Start locations:
Chesebro Half Marathon, Old Agoura 10K and Deena Kastor 5K start on Carell Avenue (map). The start is at the top of the hill. Allow plenty of time to walk up the hill.

Pacific Half Marathon starts at Paramount Ranch (map). (This start is 3.5 miles away from Chumash Park). Parking for the Pacific Half Marathon is at Paramount Ranch. Race day pick up for the Pacific Half Marathon is at Paramount Ranch from 6 a.m. - 7 a.m.

Kids 1 Mile and Family Fun Run start on Argos Street at Chumash Park.

Race day registration (as available) and race day pick up for the Chesebro Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and 1 mile are at Chumash Park.

Pacific Half Marathon
GORGEOUS! This road race is unbelievably scenic. You would never know you were in suburban L.A. Starting at Western Town in Paramount Ranch, the route runs around the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area passing through the historic sections of Cornell, Malibou Lake and Old Agoura. Completely refreshing and breathtaking!

Chesebro Half Marathon
HOT! This race always sells out. Sign up early to reserve your space! This is a unique run that traverses both road and trails. It wanders through Old Agoura down Chesebro Road and onto the Cheeseboro Canyon Trail in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. (Yes, the road is Chesebro and the trail is Cheeseboro). Important, please note: If the National Park Service decides to close all or parts of the trails, an alternative half marathon route will be run instead. Sign up early as this race is capped at 1,200 and will sell out.

Old Agoura 10K
TOP RATED! The 10K runs adjacent to Cheeseboro Canyon at the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and meanders through the horse community of Old Agoura. Enjoy one of the most scenic road races in California!

Deena Kastor 5K
CLASSIC! The Great Race is proud to name its 5K after former Agoura High School standout Deena Kastor, who set the 5K WORLD RECORD at 14:54 in 2002. Deena grew up running in The Great Race. She won the bronze medal in the marathon at the 2004 Olympics and holds U.S. records for the 5K, 8K, 10K, 15K, half marathon and marathon.

Kids 1 Mile & Camp Kinneret Family Fun Run
FUN! For kids ages 6-12, the Kids 1 Mile is one of the largest kids runs in California. It's a celebration of youth fitness! All racers are awarded a medal at the finish! This is a kids-only race. Note to parents: The course is closed to vehicles, safe and supervised.

The Family Fun Run/Walk immediately follows the Kids Mile and runs the same course and is fun for all ages!
